HOUSTON – A woman was choked and beaten Sunday in a bathroom at Memorial City Mall, police said.
According to investigators, the woman, 31, was confronted by an unknown man after she walked into the bathroom around 8:30 a.m.

The man put a trash bag around her neck and choked her until she passed out, police said. The attacker kicked the woman repeatedly before he ran and got on a METRO bus going south on Gessner Street, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital. She is expected to survive her injuries.
Police described the attacker as a black man, 25 to 35 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and 160 to 180 pounds.
