Man witnesses crooks breaking into storage units

Deputies search for man and woman who ran from scene

HOUSTON – Investigators said a man was checking on his storage unit when he saw strangers inside a unit that belonged to someone he knows.

It happened around 11 p.m. Thursday ay the Great Value Storage in northwest Harris County.

Knowing that the people inside the unit had no connection to the person he knew, the man called the manager of the storage unit to inform her of the suspicious activity.

"I said, 'Man, that is not their storage,' so I called the lady that works here," said Tony Bryant. "I said I think you should call the police because I think there are people here breaking into people's storage. They may have broken into more than one of them."

Bryant told deputies the people inside the storage unit were in the process of emptying it out and stacking the items in the back of their pickup truck.

By the time investigators arrived, two of the four suspects were gone.

The other two were taken into custody.
