Residents who live, work, or spend time in Houston’s District C have an opportunity to weigh in on how $1 million in city funding should be prioritized for neighborhood improvements.
District C Council Member Joe Panzarella’s office recently launched the “Direct Your Dollars” survey, which asks residents to identify the improvements they believe would have the greatest impact in their communities.

Each Houston City Council district receives $1 million in Council District Service Funds (CDSF), which can be used for a variety of neighborhood projects.
According to Panzarella’s office, eligible projects include park improvements, sidewalk repairs, accessibility upgrades, tree planting, beautification projects, drainage improvements and other neighborhood infrastructure.
The survey is intended to help the council office identify community priorities before funding decisions are made.
“Every neighborhood has different needs, and the people who experience those needs are the experts. This survey helps us understand where these dollars can have the biggest impact and ensures we’re making decisions not just for the community, but with the community,” Panzarella said in a statement.
“While we can’t fund every request, the survey helps ensure these dollars reflect the community’s priorities, not just ours.”
The council office said survey responses will be reviewed alongside factors such as project feasibility, cost, urgency, and input from city departments before funding decisions are finalized.
The survey will remain open through Sept. 7.
District C plans to discuss the survey results and announce selected projects during Panzarella’s 100 Days Town Hall, scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 19 at the West Gray Multi-Service Center.
