Woman dead, man in critical condition in believed murder and attempted suicide in SW Houston

HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating what they believe was a murder with an attempted suicide after a woman was found shot to death and a man in critical condition from a gunshot wound.

It happened around 6 p.m. in the 8700 block of Gustine Lane.

Lt. Larry Crowson says three children, two 10-year-old’s and a 3-year-old, were inside an apartment when they heard a gunshot coming from their parent’s bedroom.

Crowson says they ran next door to a relative, who called 911.

When police arrived and entered the apartment, they found a woman dead with an apparent gunshot wound. A man was also found with at least one gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

Police are currently conducting an investigation and are also with the man at the hospital.
