Firefighters expected to recover after battling attic fire in Missouri City

Two crew members were taken to the hospital; investigators are still working to determine what sparked the blaze

MISSOURI CITY, Texas – Two Missouri City firefighters are recovering after being hurt while responding to a Saturday house fire in the 3800 block of Quail Meadow Drive, according to Missouri City Fire & Rescue Services. The fire has since been brought under control.

Crews arriving on scene encountered an intense attic fire and moved quickly to put flames out while also searching the home. The house was left with extensive fire and smoke damage, officials said.

No residents were reported injured. The department said two firefighters were transported to a local hospital to be checked out and treated, and that their injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Firefighters also found two pets during the search and attempted emergency care, but both animals died, the department said. Officials said the cause of the fire remains under investigation and thanked mutual aid partners who helped at the scene.
