HOUSTON – Houston police say a 17-year-old is in custody after two other teenagers were shot during an argument outside a Burger King restaurant in the Third Ward Friday.
According to Lt. Larry Crowson, the 17-year-old suspect got into an argument with two 16-year-old’s inside the restaurant. Crowson said the three had been in an ongoing dispute for several weeks. The argument eventually spilled out into the parking lot where the shooting took place. Crowson said the 17-year-old pulled out a gun and shot the other two teenagers.

The two 16-year-old’s were both shot in the leg. They were taken to a hospital and are expected to survive.
The suspect fled south on Scott Street and got on a METRO bus. Plain clothes officers in the area quickly responded to the scene and were able to get a description of the suspect. They also learned the suspect had hidden two guns in nearby brush, which officers recovered. The plain clothes officers called for marked units and the suspect was taken into custody after he got off the bus.
Crowson says it appears all three teenagers involved are students at nearby Yates High School.
