On Sunday, April 12, around 11:30 a.m., deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a body at a home in the 23200 block of Goldensong Court.

Investigators said a woman called 911 after finding her brother dead inside the residence, where he had been working for several weeks.

Family members told deputies they had not heard from the victim, identified as Salinas, since Friday afternoon and noted his truck was missing and he was not at his home.

According to deputies, the two-story home had been heavily damaged by a previous fire and was undergoing renovations. Salinas was found downstairs with severe trauma to his torso, head, and neck.

Detectives later learned Salinas had been working with a man identified as Chirino.

During the investigation, deputies were notified that Salinas’ vehicle had been located in Pasadena and stopped with four people inside. All four were taken to the sheriff’s office for questioning. A woman and two juveniles were later released, while Chirino remained in custody.

After further investigation and questioning, Chirino was charged with murder.
