ALVIN, Texas – Alvin police are asking the public for help locating a suspect wanted in connection to the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old.

The shooting happened on Thursday, April 2.
Police received a call from a man who said his friend had been shot and the pair were traveling on State Highway 35 in a car. Officers responded, located the vehicle in the 3100 block of State Highway 35, and found Emad Siddiqui, 18, of Sugar Land, in the backseat of the car with a gunshot wound.
Siddiqui was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Officers learned the shooting happened at a convenience store approximately a mile south of where the vehicle was found. They learned the shooting stemmed from a disagreement over a vehicle trade previously arranged by the victim and suspect.
Eric Olvera, 23, of Alvin, has been charged by warrant with murder. He is not currently in custody and detectives are trying to locate him.
