18-year-old charged with murder after fight leads to deadly stabbing of 41-year-old man in SE Houston

While officers were tending to the victim, a man came out of the apartment and turned himself in to police

HOUSTON – A murder charge has been officially filed against a man accused of stabbing another man at an apartment complex in southeast Houston on March 3.

Luis Vazquez, 18, has been charged in the fatal stabbing of 41-year-old Talha Abdul.

What happened

Houston police said the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Redford Street.

When officers arrived, they found Abdul on a front porch, suffering from multiple stab wounds

Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

According to security guards at the location, Abdul was involved in a physical altercation with another man when the stabbing happened.

Investigators identified Vazquez as the suspect, and he was subsequently charged on Thursday.
