How far would you go to prove a point? One Houston woman decided the answer was about $6,000 in tennis shoes.

According to Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen’s office, a woman admitted to tossing roughly $6,000 worth of her roommate’s sneakers to the curb, telling investigators it was the only way she thought she could get paid back money she said she was owed.

The victim told authorities she came home to find her collection of pricey tennis shoes missing or damaged. When she confronted her roommate, the woman allegedly confessed to throwing them away.

So far, no arrests have been made. Rosen’s office says prosecutors are reviewing the case to determine whether criminal charges will be filed.

For now, the big question is whether this roommate feud over tennis shoes winds up in a courtroom or just serves as a very expensive lesson in picking who you live with.
