Hegert has a lengthy criminal history, including theft of a firearm, sexual assault of a child, assault causing bodily injury to a family member, and failure to register as a sex offender.
He had been released from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in January of 2025 and was wanted for larceny out of Waller County and for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements in San Jacinto County.
Brien Keith Coleman, 39, another Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitive, was taken into custody in Waco on Feb. 23 during a traffic stop.
Coleman was previously arrested in September of 2023 by the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office for indecency with a child by sexual contact and again in December of 2025 for violating a bond/protective order. A warrant was issued for his arrest on Dec. 29, 2025.
The Texas DPS coordinated with other local agencies and different U.S. Marshals task forces in both arrests.
