HPD: Son arrested after shooting father in Kingwood neighborhood

Suspect fled scene but later arrested by Cleveland police

A son was arrested for allegedly shooting his father in the face in Kingwood, Houston. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Tinechester Drive. (OnScene, KPRC)

HOUSTON – A son has been arrested for allegedly shooting his father in the face, according to authorities.

Houston Police said the shooting happened around 2 a.m. Sunday morning in the 2700 block of Tinechester Drive.

Responding officers said they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound and immediately took him to a nearby hospital.

The victim told officers he was working in his garage when he heard a loud bang and felt pain near his jaw. When he turned around, he said he saw his son standing over him with a gun in hand.

Houston Police said the suspect initially fled the scene, but he was later taken into custody by the Cleveland Police Department.

At this time, police do not know a motive for the shooting.
