Arrests made in SE Houston nightclub shooting, 2 suspects remain at large

Houston Police seek public’s help in finding remaining suspects

HOUSTON – Police have arrested two suspects and are searching for two more in connection to a fatal mass shooting at a Southeast Houston nightclub last July.

Houston police identified the suspects as Jaquavian Alfred, 18; Jessie Alfred, 20; Joseph Raines, 19; and Curvis Lenton, 24.

Jessie Alfred and Lenton are currently in custody, but Jaquavian Alfred and Raines remain at large.

On July 13, 2025, two people were killed and 15 others were injured in a drive-by shooting at “Bug’s Bar” on Dixie Drive.

Destini Butler, 21, and the club owner Paul Stevenson, 48, were killed in the shooting.

All four suspects have been charged with murder.

HPD said Lenton was already in custody on a capital murder charge, and Jessie Alfred was arrested on Tuesday.
