Man killed, girl injured after crash on Gulf Freeway

HOUSTON – A man was killed and a young girl was in the hospital after a crash in southeast Houston.

Police said a man driving a Dodge Durango hit a wall and the SUV became disabled on the Gulf Freeway and El Dorado just after 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

They said the driver got out before another driver in a Chevy pick-up truck hit him.

The driver of the SUV died at the scene.

A young girl about 9 years old who was in the pick-up truck was injured and taken to the hospital.

Her condition was unknown.

Police said the driver of truck did not show signs of impairment.
