The incident happened in the parking lot of the Mi Tienda grocery store on the city’s northside.
The footage shows three men: one wearing a white T-shirt and white jeans, another wearing a black T-shirt and black pants, and a uniformed male security guard.
At the start of the video, the guard has his fists up and is squaring off with the man in black while the other man watches nearby. The guard and the man exchange haymakers, but the security guard appears to gain the upper hand, throwing some overwhelming punches.
The security worker breaks through the man’s guard and lands a left hook straight to his face, knocking him to the ground. The man appears shaken but not seriously injured.
The guard then immediately turns to the man in white, and a second fight begins without hesitation from either party.
The second man appears to have more fighting experience. While his balance is shaky, he throws more effective punches and uses shoulder movement to avoid incoming blows.
Still, the security guard connects with a right jab straight to kisser, causing his knees to buckle and sending him to the pavement.
The man quickly gets back up, and the men who fought the guard appear to concede after they both lost their footing.
Each shakes hands with the security guard, and the incident seemingly ends without further violence.
Another Facebook user named Ashley Nicole had a different view of the fight. You can see that here.
The viral video has sparked widespread discussion on Facebook.
The prevailing sentiment appears to be positive, with many commenters praising the security guard for holding his own against two separate opponents.
Here are some of those reactions:
Dustin M. Rhoads: “Somebody give that man a contract. That security guard handled his own.”
KPRC 2 Reporter Gage Goulding: “I want them on my team.”
Eureka Veal: “He’s security for a reason. Does he do private duty? Handled both of them.”
Jose Cruz: “He is invited to the carne asada!”
Antzony Torres: “Boy was handing out two-pieces like it was Tuesday at Popeyes!! Folding them clowns like lawn chairs. LOL!”
Other commenters praised not only the security guard but also the way the fight played out, noting that no weapons were involved, the two men did not attack the guard at the same time, and no arrests appeared to be made.
Instead, the confrontation ended with handshakes and a mutual decision to walk away.
Here are some of those comments:
Garcia Frankie: “See the difference? They fought, and NO ONE jumped in. Then shook hands at the end!”
Roland Lex Hill: “That handshake at the end and not handcuffs, though.”
Cynthia Fowler: “Now that’s a fight! No guns, no knives, no jumping. Straight hands and a ‘you got me’ handshake at the end.”
Mac Cardenas: “I loved the ending. No jumping, just a one-on-one. No stomping someone out after they’re down, and the best part was the beef was squashed at the end. Handshake of respect and they parted ways. No hurt feeling and no one losing the life over simple stuff.”
Kyle Reynolds: “Props. Went one-on-one. Both went down. Both shook hands. Security guard 2, other guys 0. No guns, no cheap shots, no foot stomps. No retaliation. Like the old days. Well done.”
