Authorities say witnesses had informed two deputies who were working security at the transit center that there was a man exposing himself to passengers aboard the train.
“They went to interview that male and arrest him for exposing himself to people on the train, there was a fight, during that fight one of those deputies was cut on the arm,” said Lt. Larry Crowson with the Houston Police Department.
At that time, both deputies shot the suspect. He was transported to a hospital where he died.
The deputy who was cut was taken to a hospital with a laceration to his arm. The injury is not considered life-threatening.
One deputy is 33-years-old and has nine years of service. The other is 32-years-old with seven years of service.
The suspect has not been identified at this time.
