Starting Thursday, Houston residents can order groceries, household essentials, and over-the-counter medicine from Walmart and have them delivered by drone in minutes.

Deliveries are available from five local Walmart stores.

The launch event, attended by press, partners, and city officials, will feature the Metro area’s first-ever residential drone delivery flight. Attendees can watch the drone take off, tour Wing’s “Nest” delivery hub, and hear from Walmart and Wing executives about the service.

Eligible items for drone delivery include groceries, last-minute gifts, household essentials, and over-the-counter medicine. The service promises to deliver forgotten items, like fresh tomatoes or ground beef for dinner, in as fast as 30 minutes.

Residents can check their address eligibility and join the waitlist for future expansion at wing.com/walmart.

A launch event is happening at 11 a.m. Thursday, located at 15955 FM 529 in Houston.
