Armed burglary suspect throws brick through window at IKEA before running across Katy Freeway during oncoming traffic

HOUSTON – Houston police said a burglary suspect had to be tased and hospitalized after he threw a brick through a window, ran across the Katy Freeway, and threatened to kill himself.

Houston police responded to a man with a knife breaking into a business located at 7921 Katy Freeway around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said when they tried to approach the man, he took off running across the freeway, took out a knife, a threatned to kill himself. That’s when Houston police officers tasered the man.

He was transported to the hospital and expected to survive.
