Four robbery suspects overpower guard and escape the Sugar Land Detention Center

SUGAR LAND – According to law enforcement sources in Fort Bend County, four men accused of robbing a CVS store this afternoon escaped after being arrested by Sugar Land police officers.

All four suspects have now been caught for the second time today at the First Colony Church of Christ on First Colony Blvd.

A detention center guard was injured in the escape and reported to be in stable condition.

Sugar Land police says the men robbed the CVS on Crabb River Road just before 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.

The suspects took off with a bag full of money after assaulting a store clerk.

The clerk was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The suspects were originally caught with help from the Houston Police Department after a pursuit.
