HOUSTON – Houston Police say a security guard was killed after a confrontation with a man outside a seafood restaurant in southeast Houston.
It happened at the Connie’s restaurant located at 300 S. 69th Street.
Police were called around 6:30 p.m. for the reported shooting.
Lt. Larry Crowson said officers arrived and found the 57-year-old security guard suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Crowson said there was some sort of altercation between the security guard and the suspect, described only as a white or Hispanic male, outside of the restaurant. The suspect placed a gun to the victim’s back and attempted to disarm the security guard.
A fight broke out between the two and the suspect fired his weapon, striking the victim.
The suspect was last seen running away heading north on 69th Street.
