HOUSTON – State Representative Christina Morales will be holding a community vigil Thursday in response to the recent fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good in Minnesota during an ICE operation.
Members of the community are invited to join elected officials, faith leaders, and community leaders for a peaceful gathering.
“The vigil is being held in response to recent immigration enforcement actions and the killing of Renee Nicole Good during an ICE operation in Minneapolis,” a press release stated. “Events that have heightened fear and concern in communities across Houston and Texas.”
The gathering will include brief remarks from Representative Morales, other elected officials, community speakers, followed by a prayer and candlelight vigil.
The vigil is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the TBH Center located at 333 S. Jensen Drive.
