A 15-year-old boy is facing an aggravated assault charge -- accused of shooting the driver of an 18-wheeler during a confrontation over a side mirror. This happened just after 6 a.m. on the I-69 feeder in northeast Harris County
The 18-wheeler driver was taken to Ben Taub Medical Center for surgery, and at last report, was in critical condition, undergoing surgery.
Investigators say the teen was the passenger in a car driven by his 23-year-old sister.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the teen and his sister said the truck struck their mirror and they were trying to get the driver to stop. The 15-year-old allegedly fired once at the truck.
The teen and his sister were detained at the scene after they came back to check on the truck driver.
The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
@HCSOTexas deputies in Northeast Harris County, responded to 11570 E Sam Houston Pkwy N (near Garrett), in reference to an adult male who was driving an 18-wheeler that was shot by another motorist. The victim has been transported to a hospital and his condition is unknown.
