Driver hits fire truck, injures two Houston firefighters

HOUSTON – Two Houston firefighters were hurt in a crash in southeast Houston.

Police said the firefighters were helping with a crash investigation on the Gulf Freeway near FM 2351 at about 12 a.m. Saturday.

They said a driver, said to be speeding, hit the parked fire truck.

Two firefighters were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The other driver was in critical condition.

It was unclear on what may have caused the driver to hit the fire truck.

Investigators said there were no signs the driver tried to stop before the crash.

The DWI unit was requested to investigate the case.
