Cold front brings windy, chilly weather and spotty power outages to Houston area

A cold front has arrived in Southeast Texas, bringing a significant temperature drop and windy conditions.

A wind advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Sunday through 6 p.m. Monday, with gusts expected to reach 40-45 mph.

As of 6 a.m. Monday, CenterPoint Energy reported 343 outages affecting 26,216 customers across the Houston area.

CenterPoint said crews are actively responding and working safely to restore power as quickly as possible. Report any downed power lines immediately by calling 713-207-2222. Remember, never approach downed lines.
