HOUSTON – A man is critically injured after being shot by unknown suspects in southeast Houston, according to police officials.

Houston police said they responded to reports of a shooting around 1 a.m. Thursday morning near Bellfort Avenue and Jutland Road.
Responding officers say they found a male victim with a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was taken to a hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Police said the victim was traveling northbound on Jutland when he was fired at. He told police he does not know who or why he was being shot at.
The Houston Police Department Major Assaults Division is investigating.
