CONROE, Texas – A 43-year-old man has been sentenced to 75 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of sexually abusing a 13-year-old in 2024.
Walter-Hernandez Martinez, 43, was sentenced on Dec. 10.

During the trial, the jury learned that Martinez had traveled from Maryland to Montgomery County on several occasions starting in 2023. During one of the visits in Feb. 2024, he sexually abused the teen inside a residence while a younger child was asleep nearby.
Investigators say communications from Martinez’s phone showed that he received nude images from the child and also sent sexually explicit videos of himself to the child. Documents also showed that Martinez instructed the teen to take an emergency contraception after one of their sexual encounters.
Investigators said the second abuse came to light in May 2024 when an adult entered the room and found Martinez and the teen undressed.
Martinez testified during his trial, admitting to one of the sexual encounters with the teen but denying the second allegation. He said that “witch” in Mexico compelled him to commit the offense and had hacked his phone to send messages and conduct search activity or child porn that was found in his phone.
