Man arrested, charged after teen found shot multiple times in ditch
HOUSTON, Texas – A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder after deputies said she shot and killed a teenager last week.
Ben Jerry Gage Jr. was arrested on Monday, Dec. 15 and charged with capital murder. He is now in the Harris County Jail.
On Sunday, Dec. 14, deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a vehicle being in the ditch. When deputies arrived, they found a black teenager in the driver’s seat suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The teen was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to investigators, the teen had met with Gage before the shooting at a nearby parking lot. During the meetup, a fight broke out, and Gage shot the teen.
It’s unclear what caused the fight and shooting.
