Fans of the Texas Longhorns will have a reason to tune into Miami Dolphins games for the remainder of the 2025–26 regular season, as a familiar face is now under center.
On Wednesday morning, it was announced that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had been benched in favor of rookie Quinn Ewers.
Ewers spent three seasons at the University of Texas from 2022 through 2024 and was selected in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The Dolphins took him with the 231st overall pick.
He saw the field for the first time in Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns after Tagovailoa was benched, completing five of eight passes for 53 yards in a 31–6 loss.
On Monday night, the Dolphins fell to 6-8 on the season and were eliminated from playoff contention with a 28-15 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
