SPRING, Texas – Court documents have revealed new details about a violent confrontation involving a Spring ISD school bus, in which a 20-year-old man is accused of forcing the bus to stop, boarding it with a firearm and attempting to pull a student from the vehicle.
Authorities identified the suspect as David Madison, 20, of Spring. He is charged with aggravated assault on a public servant with a deadly weapon, attempted aggravated kidnapping, and making a terroristic threat, records show.

The incident occurred Monday near 24505 Birnam Wood Blvd.
According to court documents, the school bus driver noticed a female student walking in the opposite direction of her designated bus stop and observed an SUV following her. The driver told investigators she felt “something was not right” and stopped the bus to allow the student to board.
Shortly after, the SUV pulled in front of the bus. The suspect exited the vehicle and ran toward the bus, prompting the driver to pull away. The SUV then followed the bus as the driver contacted police.
A short time later, the SUV blocked the bus at the intersection of Peerless Drive and Pathfinders Pass, forcing it to stop, according to documents. Madison exited the vehicle again, this time holding what was described as a small black rifle with an extended magazine. Investigators said he pointed the firearm at the bus driver through the glass door and demanded she open it.
Madison then entered the bus and walked toward the female student, grabbing her by the arm and attempting to pull her from the bus while telling her to “get off,” records state. The student begged him to stop.
Documents say Madison eventually released the student, telling her, “I’ll get you later,” before exiting the bus.
Investigators later spoke with the student, who said she had been in a dating relationship with Madison for more than a year. She told authorities the two broke up in October following a physical altercation.
The student reported that Madison approached her while she was walking to her bus stop earlier that morning and demanded she get into his vehicle. She said she noticed the bus arriving as the encounter unfolded and boarded it to get away. She also told investigators Madison pulled her by the arms and grabbed her hair as he attempted to force her off the bus.
Surveillance video from the bus corroborated witness accounts and showed the suspect pointing a firearm toward students, authorities said. Investigators said the footage helped them positively identify Madison.
Madison remains in custody on multiple felony charges. Bond information was not immediately available.
