Battleship Texas gets new lease on life with major Galveston restoration
The iconic Battleship Texas is getting a new lease on life through a massive restoration project underway in Galveston, featuring welding, carpentry, and fresh paint.
Since August 2022, the $75 million overhaul has included replacing hundreds of tons of steel, painting the hull and superstructure, and restoring wood decking and anti-aircraft guns.
