The incident happened around 2 a.m. Friday morning at the Whataburger located at 14505 Old Highway 59 in Splendora.
Police responded after getting multiple calls of two individuals armed with a gun inside the restaurant and that the gun had been fired.
When officers arrived, they found the two suspects engaged in a fight with restaurant employees. They intervened and were able to take both suspects into custody. A gun was also recovered.
Officers learned one of the suspects was a former employee of the restaurant and the other was a family member. Evidence gathered at the scene indicates the suspects entered the restaurant, displayed the gun and then initiated a confrontation with the employees, at which time the gun was fired.
Both suspects were taken to the Montgomery County Jail and additional charges may be filed.
