FDA warns imported cookware may leach lead into food during cooking or storage

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has added nine more imported cookware products to its list of items that may leach lead into food during cooking or storage.

The products, made from aluminum, brass, and aluminum alloys, were tested by the FDA and state partners and found to have the potential to release significant levels of lead.

• Sonex Aluminum Pot
• IKM Aluminum Saucepan
• Brass Tope
• Aluminum Kadai Size 5
• IKM 4-Quart Pital Brass Pot
• Silver Horse Aluminum Coldero 28, Degda 24, Degda 20
• Chef Milk Pan 24 cm

Additional products may also be affected. The FDA will update the list as new information becomes available.

Households should check for the listed cookware and safely dispose of any found—do not donate or refurbish.
