Tammy King was found dead in her Bacliff home on Feb. 5, 2025. She had a gunshot wound to her head and investigators said she had been dead for several days before she was found.

Authorities believe the couple stole money from a lockbox or safe at the home, which escalated the crime to capital murder.

The two were ultimately captured in Laredo on Feb. 9.

A capital murder conviction carries an automatic life sentence without the possibility of parole.

Tara King is also charged with capital murder. She is scheduled to face trial in January.
