Man in custody after allegedly shooting sister during argument in NE Houston

HOUSTON – A man is in custody after allegedly shooting his sister in the chest during an argument in northeast Houston Thursday evening.

Houston police say it happened at 4102 Tidford Street shortly after 8 p.m.

Officers arrived and found a woman had been shot in the chest. First aid was given and she was conscious and alert when she was taken to the hospital.

Witnesses at the scene say the woman and her brother were at their mother’s house when an argument broke out between the two. During the argument, the woman’s brother shot her in the chest. He was taken into custody at the scene.

Police say the woman is expected to survive.
