HOUSTON, Texas – Three people were hospitalized after a shooting in northwest Harris County on Sunday night and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said it happened while a group of people were taking photos of their guns at a park.

Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a disturbance in the 3900 block of Pintan Lane.

When deputies arrived, they learned that at least three young men had been shot and taken to the hospital.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said one of the victims shot is believed to be 16 years old, while the other two are in their early 20s. The circumstances surrounding the shooting have not yet been released.
Deputies said firearms were recovered at the scene, and preliminary evidence suggests a total of five people were there, but it’s unclear what they were all doing there.

On Monday, the sheriff’s office provided new details. The sheriff’s office said a group of juveniles and adults gathered at a neighborhood park at the location to display their weapons and take photos of them.
During the gathering, the sheriff’s office said one of the individuals pointed a gun at others and demanded their firearms. This led to multiple individuals firing their weapons, resulting in three people being shot.
Two of the three taken to the hospital remain listed in critical condition.
