According to police, the home had been bought a few months ago.

Monday, the new owner came and did a walkthrough of the home and found the remains inside. Police were called around 12:30 p.m.

At the scene, police said the remains were found in a back bedroom on a makeshift pallet bed.

They believe the remains may belong to a homeless individual who had been staying in the house and right now, it does not appear criminal in nature.

This is the second incident where human remains have been found inside a home in the area Monday. In a separate incident, more remains were found in a home that has been vacant since Hurricane Harvey in the Bear Creek Village area of far Northwest Houston.
