Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said deputies were called to the home after some sort of disturbance between a couple.
Officials at the scene told KPRC 2 they received a 911 call from a woman at the home who said she had shot her husband during a fight.
EMS and deputies arrived on scene and provided aid to the man, but he died at the scene.
Investigators are currently interviewing the woman to try and find out more information about what exactly happened.
They said there was a child inside the home at the time of the shooting. It is unclear whether the child witnessed the shooting, but he was unharmed and is now with family members.
Investigators say this case will go to a grand jury once they gather all the evidence. The grand jury will decide whether this was a case of self-defense and if any charges will be filed.
