Worker in critical condition after fire at commercial building in Channelview

CHANNELVIEW, Texas – A worker is in critical condition after being burned in a fire at a business in Channelview on Thursday morning.

Channelview firefighters responded to reports of a commercial fire in the 16023 block of East Freeway around 2:00 a.m.

Witnesses reported that they heard a loud boom before the fire began. A man was allegedly inside the business working overnight on one of the units when the fire started, according to fire officials.

Firefighters said four units were impacted by the fire. The cause is still under investigation.
