For fans of the Houston Astros, Monday’s game at Daikin Park will feel like a trip down memory lane.

In a move at the MLB Trade Deadline, the Astros brought Carlos Correa back to the team, reuniting one of the key contributors to the city that drafted him.

On Monday, he’ll return to Daikin Park for the first time as an Astro since 2021.

The nostalgia factor doesn’t end in the home team’s dugout, though. The Astros will be playing the Boston Red Sox, who signed another Houston star after the 2024 season: Alex Bregman.

After winning two out of three against the New York Yankees this weekend, the Astros desperately need to keep the momentum moving upward. With a 66-52 overall record, they have just a half-game lead over the Seattle Mariners—who hold a seven-game winning streak—in the AL West.

First pitch of tonight’s game is slated for 7:10 p.m. Astros right-handed pitcher Cristian Javier is slated to make his first start on the mound in 2025 after recovering from Tommy John surgery. He’ll be facing off against Boston lefty Garrett Crochet, who has a 13-4 record on the season with a 2.24 ERA and a WHIP of 1.07.
