Woman found dead in Fifth Ward apartment, police investigating as ‘suspicious’

HOUSTON – Houston Police are investigating after a woman was found dead in an apartment in the Fifth Ward.

Authorities say the woman was found inside the apartment in the 2700 block of Lorraine Street.

According to police, neighbors said they hadn’t seen the woman in days and noticed a bad smell.

Police responded on a check welfare call and found the woman dead inside the apartment. A dog was also found in the apartment.

Police are investigating the death as suspicious in nature. Animal control was also requested to take possession of the dog.
