As the surge of free agency signings continue, the Houston Rockets have brought back a familiar face.
Monday evening, ESPN Senior NBA Insider Shams Charania announced that the Rockets have signed free agent center Clint Capela to a three-year, $21.5 million contract. The contract is fully guaranteed.

After being drafted in 2014 Capela played for the Rockets for the first six seasons of his career from 2014 to 2020. He signed with the Atlanta Hawks, where he has spent the last five seasons.
Capela was a reliable and consistent starting big during his first stint in Houston and his time with the Hawks. In the 2024-25 season, he averaged 8.9 rebounds, 8.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.
Capela was Houston’s second addition in free agency, after the team added Dorian Finney-Smith on a four-year deal.
Michael is a Kingwood native who loves visiting local restaurants and overreacting to Houston sports. He earned his BA from Texas A&M University in 2022 and his MA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2023. Michael is a credentialed media member for the Houston Rockets.
