A man is in custody accused of aggravated robbery and kidnapping and then led police on a chase

According to Houston Police, the victim was withdrawing money at an ATM around midnight when the suspect allegedly entered the bed of his truck.

Investigators said after the victim drove home; the suspect emerged, pointed a gun at the victim, and demanded his keys, money, and phone. When the victim hesitated, the suspect forced him into the vehicle at gunpoint and drove away with him inside. According to police, the suspect released the victim about half a mile from the residence and fled in the stolen truck.

Officers later located the truck and attempted a traffic stop but the suspect took off, leading police on a chase. The suspect ultimately crashed into another car on Dixie and Telephone Road and was taken into custody. Both the suspect and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital and according to authorities they are both expected to recover. Investigators have not said what charges that the suspect will face.
