An investigation is underway after two men were found dead following a shooting in a Morgan’s Point neighborhood, near La Porte.
Morgan’s Point police responded to the home, located in the 200 block of S. Jamison Street, on Monday morning. Medical examiners were also called to the scene.
Police said they found the two men suffering from gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released pending the notification of family.
Neighbors told KPRC 2’s Bryce Newberry that they heard first responders arriving around 8 a.m.
Another neighbor said some men were fist fighting in the front yard and a woman was yelling before the shooting.
South Jamison Street was taped off with crime scene tape extending through the backyard of the home. Around 2 p.m., investigators arrived with a ground metal detector and were seen using it in the front and back yards.
Morgan’s Point police are the lead agency, with assistance from the La Porte Police Department.
Morgan’s Point police believes this is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public related to this shooting.
