HOUSTON – KPRC 2 and American Furniture Warehouse are surprising 20 deserving high school seniors with $2,500 scholarships in 2025. All students selected for scholarships have been nominated by their high schools.
Shadow Creek High School Senior Isabella Carter is this week’s KPRC 2-American Furniture Warehouse Senior Scholarship winner. Shadow Creek High School in Pearland is part of the Alvin Independent School District.
Carter is a nationally competitive golfer with ambitions to play at a professional level. She is an academic powerhouse, ranking in the top two percent of her class, who has been recognized by the College Board as an AP Scholar with Distinction for exceptional achievement in her Advanced Placement courses.
Extracurricular activities at her school include National Honor Society, Student Advisory Council, Christians in the Youth (CITY) leader, plus Carter serves as Vice President of the Spanish Honor Society.
Carter has a heart for service and volunteers as a worship and Bible study leader at New Hope Church. She has also volunteered at the West Pearland Library and mentors other aspiring young golfers at First Tee of Greater Houston.
Carter plans to study Psychology in college.
