According to the Harris Co. Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, Stefan Stan and Florin Tomscu were at the Sam’s Club on E. Richey Road where they were seen scanning several credit cards in the self-checkout.
Further investigation revealed they were using Visa gift cards they cloned with fake EBT information to try and purchase 103 cases of Red Bull—valued at about $5,739.89.
When one of the arriving deputies confronted them, Tomscu punched one of the officers in the face, while Stan ran towards the woods.
A perimeter was established and with the help of the K9, constable deputies were able to find Stan and put him in handcuffs.
Both men were booked into the Harris County Jail, where Tomscu was charged with assaulting a peace officer and placed on a $5,000 bond, while Stan was charged with evading and had his bond set at $100.
