Driver, passenger hospitalized after mysterious shooting in SW Houston

HOUSTON – Authorities in southwest Houston are trying to figure out what led up to a shooting late Sunday night.

It happened around midnight when Houston police said they were called to a shooting on Bissonnet Street near Bayland Park where two people were injured.

According to Lt. JP Horelica, someone fired several shots at their vehicle, one of the bullets went through the truck, hitting a backseat passenger and the driver.

Both have been described as “young adults” and were taken to the hospital in unknown condition. It’s unclear what led up to the shooting so Lt. Horelica said if anyone has any information that could help in their ongoing investigation, to call HPD or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
