One killed after leaving after-hours nightclub in southeast Houston

HOUSTON – Police were investigating a shooting in southeast Houston that left one person dead.

It happened in a parking lot on the Gulf Freeway and Bellfort at about 4 a.m. Sunday.

Police said there was a fight as people were leaving an after-hours nightclub before the shooting broke out.

They detained several people, in hopes of learning more about what happened and who opened fire.
