A driver is in the hospital after leading authorities on a chase that spanned multiple jurisdictions, ending in a crash.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office the chase started around 1 a.m. On Saturday and spanned 25 miles, crossing through multiple jurisdictions.

Investigators said that deputies with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office initially pursued the driver of a black four door vehicle and then HCSO District 5 patrol units go involved.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the driver refused to pull over during the pursuit and ultimately crashed into a light pole near Little York and the Hardy Toll Road.

The crash damaged multiple streetlights in the area. The driver was detained and taken to a local hospital. No other people were inside of the vehicle at the time of the pursuit and crash. Investigators have not released the reason for the original pursuit.
