Husband charged in wife’s murder answered door covered in blood, Houston police says

HOUSTON, Texas – A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged after his wife was found dead inside a home in northwest Houston Wednesday morning.
Officers with the Houston Police Department responded to reports of a “suspicious event” at a home located in the 5100 block of Emma Forest Street near Pinemont Drive around 7:20 a.m.
When officers arrived, 34-year-old Chance Zane Chavez was standing in the doorway with his hand up. Officers said Chavez had blood on his arms, legs, and clothing.
When officers continued to check the home, they found Chavez’s wife, a 32-year-old woman, unresponsive in the bedroom. Investigators said she died from blunt force trauma to her body.
Chavez was arrested and has since been charged with murder.
