Family requests attendees wear ‘blue’ to honor turner’s legacy

Funeral arrangements have been announced for Sylvester Turner, former Mayor of Houston, Texas State Representative, and United States Representative for the 18th Congressional District.

His legacy will be honored with several public ceremonies where family, friends, and the community can pay their respects.

Special requests

Attendees are asked to wear blue to honor Sylvester’s life and service.

Pallbearers

Sylvester’s pallbearers will be members of his former security detail: Officers Jack Bailey, Myron Brady, Will Laster, Ingrid Pinzon, Paul Powell, and Rodney Tyler.

Private burial

The burial will be a private ceremony per the family’s wishes.

In lieu of flowers

Indiviuals are asked to consider donating to the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Sylvester’s name or a charity of their choice.
